For those of you who didn't know, Vigil Games (an in-house sub of THQ games) announced the making of Warhammer 40k MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) on March 2007 and it will be completed around year 2012. Details are still very vague, but so far only a few information about the world settings and gameplay are revealed, and a screenshot of an Orky camp (made from a Fighta Bomma) is shown on the official website. It's highly likely Orks will be a playable race! Waaaaaghh!!! :D

THQ Investors Presentation 2009

Information gathered around the internet:
  • The game will be set in the 41st Millenia, after the Horus Heresy and they promised all 'important' races will be represented (ORKS ORKS ORKS ORKS ORKS).
  • There will be no non-combat classes in the game. So everybody have to start a fight! Good news for Orks! :)
  • Character looks will be highly customizable with objects like weapons, books, scrolls and chains hanging from their armour. So you can see how big your shoota/choppa iz like when you carry 'em! Sounds darn fun and intimidating.
  • War and battlefields will be a large part of Warhammer 40,000 Online, players are also able to visit cities (of all scales, types and sizes), exotic alien temples, Chaos shrines, deserted battlefields, mysterious ruins, ancient structures, drifting hulks in space, etc... and that they will be populated with all manners of non-playable characters. I'd very like to bring a bunch of boyz to raid all the above and looking for a good fight!
  • Grouping with other players is NOT necessary, though you may need a larger group to fight tougher bosses and PVP. Maybe good for those who like solo.

There will be lots more information revealed later at the E3 2010 expo June 15-17th. Stay tuned and I'll cover all the Orky news that you'll ever need! What are your guesses? I hope they have a Evil Sunz klan...
