Orcs vs Orks matchup

As fans of both greenskin people have been arguing...Is Orcs in Fantasy better than Orks in WH40k? Or is it the other way 'round? I've go into detail and delve into both fluff, miniatures line and history. Anyways, here's the information after comparing both of the best, most fun races in fantasy and 40k. :P

Orcs are better than Orks because :-

  • There are more other races/animals fightin' together with the greenskin. Giants, Wolves, Boars, Squigs, Trolls, Wyverns, Snotlings and Spiders. It's cool to see Orcs live and fight with other races/animals in harmony!
  • Goblins are more dominant in WFB, as they have more unit type, an elite Night Goblin type, better weapons and classes, Snotlings and a few Goblin HQs. I'd love to use Skarsnik, Lord of the Eight Peaks & Gobbla to eat up some enemy units! Good news for goblin/gretchin fans I suppose, since they are competitive to field some of them and you'll see them more often in WFB rather than in WH40k.

  • There are much more miniatures available on the market today for Orcs and Goblins for WFB compared to Orks for WH40k.

  • The Orc Warboss (which is suppose to be the most important unit in both races!) is available on a customizable plastic kit, unlike the Ork Warboss models which are not customizable unless you do some cutting, adding plasticard and greenstuffing. Plus, Warboss on Wyverns are cooler than Warboss on Bikes, especially Azhag the Slaugtherer...reminds me of Jake Sulley riding Wyverns in Avatar.
  • There are more races in WFB for the greenskins to bash (15 main races in WFB compared to 12 main in WH40k). There are stunties (Dwarfs) to fight wif which doesn't exist in WH40k.

Orks are better than Orcs because:-

  • One word : DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA! Ok thats seven...
  • Looting and kitbashing! There are tons of Ork players out there making their own Flash Gitz, Looted Tanks, Battlewagons, Gunz, etc. Anything can be looted and can be Orkified proppa by the Mekboyz! Plus you can make Orks wear any kind of freeboota clothings like pirates cause in Space anything is possible.
  • Orks can use bits and parts from WFB Orcs with some proppa paint and some modification as a Feral/Snake Bite type of Orks, where as Orcs have a little bit difficulty in doing so because of the technological difference.
  • Orks are generally bigger in size, in all aspects. The 40k Warboss is bigger than a WFB Warboss even without the Mega-Armor, Nobz are bigger than Black Orcs, and Orks have big vehicles (prolly bigger then many other races in WH40k as well!).
  • Red paints in WH40k makes things go fasta, and the goblins in WFB failed to realize it. They should paint their chariots and animals red.
  • There are more variety of weapons in the Orks armory. More ways to chop, smash, fry your enemy and MORE DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA
  • Battlewagon with Deffrolla. Orcs and Orks both like big things; and they should make a big vehikle in WFB that can roll/smash over puny enemies who dare to mess with the greenskins. The Empire already has their Steam Tank and I hope in the future that Orcs and Goblins have their own big 'un as well.

  •  My personal opinion, Orks have more funny and memorable quotes over Orcs. :)

There ya go...a few points I can think of. But in the end who cares? I like to see both landing a choppa on a pesky 'umies head! If only GW make a story about some kind of dimension distortion and pit both Orks and Orcs together...they will rules the whole Warhammer World! WAAAAAGHHHHH!! Whaddaya think?

Interesting. It's actually a shame a lot of old 40k fluff is basically forgotten these days. FB got boars? In 40k Orks ride Cyboars and SUPER CYBOARS. Oh well.
